Description

Job Summary:

To inspect and neatly pack product to ensure that bags going to The Customer are of proper quantity and quality.

Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Visually inspect bag seals, print and position for defaults and quality.
  • Collect pre-determined number of bags and pack into boxes.
  • Seal and properly label filled boxes to prepare for shipping.  May include stacking boxes on skids.
  • Construct boxes by folding and taping.
  • Maintain area around machine for cleanliness.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to count – counting bags into boxes
  • Ability to read and write English – inspecting bags
  • Manual dexterity – sorting and putting bags into boxes

Other knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Ability to communicate deficiencies to Operator and Supervisor
  • Must demonstrate the ability to maintain confidentiality of information to Company and Federal standards.
  • Must be able to adapt to changes in the work environment, manage competing demands and be able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events.
  • Must be dependable and work within Company conduct standards; consistently at work and on time, follows instructions, responds to management direction and solicits feedback to improve performance.

Working Conditions:

  • Working 12 hr. shifts.
  • Work in a manufacturing environment around machinery (concrete flooring).
  • Overtime as required
  • Follow all safety regulations and rules at all times, including wearing all required personal protective equipment (PPE):
    • Eye Protection/ Safety glasses
    • Steel toe shoes
    • Hearing protection
    • Hairnets and beard nets
  • Ability to work in a non-air conditioned environment: hot conditions during summer months and cool conditions during winter months. (consistently)
  • Must be able to prioritize/multi-task, be a team player and able to adapt to change
  • Work around solvents, ink, adhesives, and cleaners used in the manufacturing process.

Environment:

  • Concrete floors
  • Exposure to solvents
  • Noise – mandatory use of appropriate PPE
  • Hot/humid summer time indoor conditions

Mental Effort Requirements:

  • Ability to keep pace with machine
