Our York facility is looking for a Press Supervisor. This position will be on 2nd shift, Monday-Friday 3pm-11pm.

Job Summary:
This is a supervisory position, responsible for the management of C-P Flexible Packaging’s manufacturing shifts in the Press Department. This is a hands-on team-oriented individual who must effectively manage daily operations while focusing on continuous improvement opportunities in support of department goals. Critical areas of focus include safety, quality, productivity, housekeeping, cost/inventory control and interpersonal communication at associate and management levels.
Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities: (includes, but not limited to)
- Oversee and direct all activities of the personnel assigned to their shift by walking the production floor consistently throughout the shift
- Positively communicates production expectations and measures team and individual contributor performance toward the achievement of these expectations
- Ensure achievement of safety, quality, production, productivity, and housekeeping goals for department
- Promote a safe work environment that focuses on implementing policies and procedures as well as education to prevent accidents.
- Maintain the accuracy and documentation of production reporting
- Develop and maintain supportive working relationships with internal supplier, support, and customer departments
- Assist the Scheduling Department in defining and maintaining workflow through the department
- Ensure adequate supply of materials for your shift’s operation
- Oversee department manning requirements including vacation planning and coverage
- Oversee employee training
- Must be available to work overtime and altered schedule as needed to support operation.
- Assist in the development, implementation, and administration of written guidelines to ensure product quality requirements are consistently achieved
- Embraces continuous improvement and actively participates both as a leader and contributor in the identification and implementation of improvement opportunities
- Other duties as assigned by Management
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Effectively manage personnel to support production requirements
- Conduct employee evaluations
- Oversee disciplinary action, as required
- Oversee vacation coverage planning
- Direct staff personal development and training
Qualifications:
- Previous manufacturing supervision desired, or extensive knowledge of finishing operations
- Knowledge of flexographic/web handling and converting processes including printing, lamination (adhesive and extrusion) and slitting processes required
- Strong PC skills including experience with MS Office Suite required
- Excellent written/oral communication skills & strong presentation skills
- Excellent organizational/time-management skills
- Ability to define/solve problems with many variables and limited information
- Ability to function effectively with limited supervision
