C-P Flexible Packaging is a successful and fast-growing essential manufacturing company that uses an impressive array of digital pre-press and wide-web flexographic printing capabilities and extrusion and adhesive laminators to produce creative flexible packaging solutions for our customers.
Our York facility is looking for a Production Supervisor to provide coverage on our Night Shift, 12-hour 2/2/3 rotation, 6pm-6am.
As we continue to expand our operations, we are seeking an experienced and motivated Production Shift Supervisor to help lead our manufacturing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced production environment and is passionate about safety, quality, productivity, and employee development.
The Production Shift Supervisor will oversee production activities across multiple departments, ensuring operational excellence while supporting and developing a high-performing team.
What You'll Do
As a key member of our operations leadership team, you will:
- Oversee and direct all activities of the personnel assigned to the shift by walking the production floor consistently.
- Ensure achievement of quality, production, productivity and safety goals for department
- Maintain the accuracy and documentation of production reporting
- Assist the Scheduling Department in defining and maintaining work flow through the department
- Ensure adequate supply of materials for your shift’s operation
- Oversee employee training
- Direct supervision of personnel on your shift
- Conduct employee evaluations
- Oversee disciplinary action, as required
- Oversee vacation coverage planning
- Direct staff personal development and training
- Must comply with all general Company-wide standard operating procedures (SOP’s) and any job or department specific SOP’s.
- SOP’s may cover the areas of (but are not limited to)
- Employee Health and Safety
- AIB and GMP (good manufacturing procedures) focused on eliminating contaminates in all packaging manufactured.
- SGP (Sustainable Green Printer) environmental regulatory procedures and SOP’s.
- SOP’s may cover the areas of (but are not limited to)
- Other duties as assigned by Management
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of manufacturing supervisory experience
- Strong leadership and team development skills
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Experience managing production data, reporting, and performance metrics
- Proficiency with:
- Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- ERP/MRP systems
- Timekeeping and attendance systems
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills
- Exceptional organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic manufacturing environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with flexographic printing, web handling, converting, lamination, and slitting processes
- Experience in packaging or related manufacturing environments
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the production facility
- Ability to climb stairs and navigate manufacturing environments
- Ability to become forklift certified
- Ability to use computers, phones, and related technology effectively
Work Environment
This position works in a manufacturing setting and may be exposed to:
- Production equipment and moving machinery
- Industrial noise levels
- Inks, adhesives, solvents, and other manufacturing materials
Required personal protective equipment (PPE) may include:
- Safety glasses
- Hearing protection
- Gloves
- Hairnets and other food-packaging safety equipment
